ICOM AH-740 Mobile HF Auto-Tune Antennas provide near-instantaneous tuning across a 2.5 to 30 megahertz range. Their self-contained multiband antenna tuner creates a unified wide-range mobile antenna of exceptional capability. Designed to facilitate mobile HF communications for commercial and military users around the world; they are both rugged and reliable.AH-740s can handle up to 125 watts PEP/Data and support 45 memories for tuning times of approximately 150ms. Non-memory tuning takes only 2 to 3 seconds. Tuning requires a minimum of 5 watts to a maximum of 15 watts. Their included whip antenna is 5 ft. (1.54m) tall.
Due to the size of their base, (5.7 x 6.3 in.), these antennas require special mounting considerations, such as a user-supplied receiver-hitch mount or a Gibbet mount or SUV-style spare tire antenna mount.
